Chakra in Sanskrit means Wheel. In<strong> Wheel Pose<\/strong>, the final position looks like a wheel, hence the name. It gives great flexibility to the spine. It is called chakrasana since the body takes almost a wheel-like, semi-circular posture while performing this asana.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>English name: <\/strong>\u2013 Wheel Pose<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Sanskrit name: <\/strong>\u2013 Chakrasana<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Pose type:<\/strong> \u2013 backbend, stretch, inversion, balance.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Body position:<\/strong> \u2013 Supine<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p><strong>Level: <\/strong>\u2013 Advanced<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading -->\n<h3>How to Chakrasana or Wheel Pose?<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:list {\"ordered\":true} -->\n<ol>\n<li>Lie flat on your back on the floor. You may bend your knees so that the soles of your feet are on the floor and closer to your buttocks. Make sure that your feet are hip-width apart.<\/li>\n<li>Your hands must be placed behind your shoulders, ensuring your fingers are opened up and pointed towards your shoulders.<\/li>\n<li>Once you feel comfortable in this stance, balance your weight on your limbs. Then, press your feet and palms, and lift your entire body off the mat. Let your head hang gently. Your neck should be long.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you breathe comfortably. Take slow, deep breaths.<\/li>\n<li>Hold the pose for a minute, or as long as you are comfortable. Then, release by bending your arms and legs, and gently lowering your back on the ground. Lie down in Shavasana for a few minutes before you resume normal activity or continue with your workout.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<!-- \/wp:list --><!-- wp:heading -->\n<h3>Benefits of Chakrasana or Wheel Pose:<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:list -->\n<ul>\n<li>Increases the flexibility of the body.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthens the bones and muscles of the body and is mainly beneficial in strengthening the legs.<\/li>\n<li>strengthens the respiratory system as by doing it, the chest enhances and the lungs get oxygen to its fullest.<\/li>\n<li>Relives all the stress and tension as it strengthens the nervous system and refreshes the brain.<\/li>\n<li>Helpful in reducing the fat of the abdomen and to get rid of the bloated belly.<\/li>\n<li>Beneficial for the digestive system, gastric problems and for all the disorders of the female reproductive system.<\/li>\n<li>Ensures better functioning of the heart, liver, spleen, and kidneys.
